I've been using the M18 hatchet along with the quik-lok pole saw attachment, but I've noticed that both tools tend to leak bar oil when I store them. Is there a recommended way to fix this? Also, is it better to store them vertically instead of horizontally to minimize leaking?

It's pretty standard for all chainsaws to leak some oil. A good habit is to drain the reservoir after each use to minimize the leaking while in storage.
Temperature changes can cause the air in the oil tank to expand and contract, which leads to leaks. I've learned to keep my oil level low and only loosen the cap enough to unseal the o-ring when storing it. I also keep my pole saw attachment in a bucket to avoid mess.
Honestly, this seems to be a normal issue for all types of saws. But funny enough, my gas saw doesn't leak at all when stored. Different mechanics at play, I guess!
