How Can I Keep Bees Away Without Hurting Them?

I'm really concerned about bees while caring for my vegetable seeds. I know they're essential for pollination, but I have a fear of bugs, and lately, I've noticed two large bees seem to follow me around every time I'm outside! I'm trying to maintain moisture in the soil during this hot weather in Georgia, but these bees are chasing me back to my door. I've considered using neem oil as a spray around the perimeter of my garden, but I'm wondering if that's a good idea. Can anyone share their thoughts or alternative solutions?

You might want to think twice before trying to get rid of them! Bees are really important for your garden, especially for pollinating your plants. If they're buzzing around you, they might just be looking for water. Instead of neem oil, consider placing a small saucer of water with some rocks nearby. That way, they can get a drink without bothering you too much! Plus, bumblebees are pretty docile and won’t sting unless provoked.

That's a good point! I usually water my plants when they’re around, so maybe that's what they're after. I was also worried about a potential hive nearby.

If you're really afraid, I get it! You could invest in a bee suit or even just a simple bug hat with a mesh cover. It might feel a bit out there, but it could help you feel more comfortable while you work in your garden. Just remember to wear long sleeves, long pants, and gloves to protect yourself.

Haha, I actually tried wearing a full coat and joggers with a big hat. I looked ridiculous, but it did help! Thanks for the suggestion!
