I'm looking to paint my garden fence during my time off, but I'm a bit worried about the chilly temperatures. It doesn't look like it's going to rain this week, but is it still a good idea to go ahead with it?

You should definitely check the paint can for the lowest temperature guidelines! Most paints work fine as long as it's about 10 degrees Celsius or warmer. If that's not mentioned, just give the manufacturer a call to confirm.
Go for it! I painted my fence a month back and had no problems. Just make sure to tackle the shaded areas earlier in the day to give them more time to dry out. And don't forget your sunscreen while you're out there!
