I've recently started doing some light maintenance on my truck and I'm ready to invest in a ratchet. I'm undecided between several options: a regular ratchet, an extended one, the Insider ratchet, and an impact ratchet. The regular and extended models are priced between $199 and $250, while the Insider is currently on sale for $300 and includes a 5.0 battery. I could return or sell the battery, which would put the Insider in the same price range as the others. I prefer to use a 3/8 size since I'm also planning to pick up a 3/8 stubby impact wrench soon. Any suggestions on which ratchet would be best for a hobbyist like myself?

Go for the 2457 model! It's lighter and more affordable, leaving you extra budget for other tools you'll need.
I own the 3/8 stubby and the high-speed 3/8 ratchet combo. You really can't go wrong with that setup! If you’re starting fresh, the Insider could be a smart choice since it gives you a couple of functionalities in one with its different anvils.
The 3/8 high-speed 2567 ratchet is a steal right now for only $115! It's definitely my top pick. I’m not a fan of extended reach ratchets personally; they tend to feel top-heavy and awkward. Some people swear by the old brushed ratchet, which is great as a first tool and currently on sale for just $99. For casual use, I haven't found the extended reach to be useful. The Insider is the only extended model I’d consider, but it's a bit pricey for me. Plus, I have both the high-speed and brushed models and love them!
