Will Coffee Grounds Really Keep Squirrels Out of My Garden?

I've heard that using coffee grounds can be effective in deterring squirrels from invading my garden because they dislike the smell. Has anyone tried this method, and did it actually work for you? I'd love any tips on keeping squirrels away from my plants!

Honestly, a lot of what you read online about using coffee grounds is pretty dubious. I’ve tried it, and it didn't seem to make much difference. You might have better luck with something else.

I see what you mean! It's frustrating when you try something and it doesn't work out.

I think physical barriers are really the only sure way to keep squirrels at bay. Coffee grounds might work for a little while, but they get used to anything after some time. I use a mesh fence around my garden, and sometimes I add motion-activated sprinklers. They really hate getting wet!

I can vouch for motion sensors! They definitely do the job.

You're spot on about deterrents losing their effectiveness. They get used to one thing and just move on. I switch things up by using cayenne pepper and sometimes vinegar-soaked wood chips too. A small fence helps a lot as well, especially in the early stages of your garden.

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely give those methods a shot.
