Hey everyone! I'm planning to install 2 exterior doors and 6 interior doors, plus I'll be painting around 500 square feet. I'm also considering whether to go with new molding or just repaint the existing molding. I'm really torn on whether to hire a handyman for all of this or if I should get separate specialists for the doors, the painting, and the molding. What do you think is the best way to go about this?

It's really a good idea to get quotes from both handymen and specialists. If the specialists are close in price or even cheaper, I say go for them. They tend to work faster and usually provide a higher quality of work. Plus, they might get better deals on materials due to their connections.
Totally agree! Specialists know their stuff, especially for installations.
Not all handymen have the same level of skill. Some are fantastic, while others might not have the experience you need for a big job like this. Make sure to do your homework!
I've seen a lot of horror stories about handymen messing up door installations. If you haven't seen their previous work or heard good reviews, you might be taking a risk. Plus, many handymen aren't insured, which could be a problem if anything goes wrong.
Yikes, I didn't think about the insurance aspect. That's definitely something to consider.
Exactly, a proper contractor provides that peace of mind.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely compare quotes and see how it shakes out.
