Best Wood Flooring Options for My Sauna Shed?

I'm converting my shed into a sauna and need advice on the flooring for an 8x3.5' changing area. I'll only have 1-2 people in there at a time. Currently, I have a plywood subfloor, and I'm thinking of installing oak planks directly on top of it, nailing them down. I'm wondering if I can use various types of wood and what thickness is advisable—would 1/4" be too thin, is 1/2" sufficient, or would 1" be better despite it slightly affecting the door clearance? I found a potential oak option online but want to know if there are better alternatives.

Most flooring comes with a tongue and groove setup, so 1/2" thickness should be more than fine for your sauna shed. Just a heads up though, the oak option you linked is quite pricey—check out local flooring stores or online marketplaces for better deals on hardwood.

Thanks for the tip! I just used that as an example. I'll definitely look into other options.
