Is making wooden leg extensions for my metal bed frame a good or bad idea?

I'm considering making wooden leg extensions for my metal bed frame since I'm too cheap to buy a loft bed. I realize there's a good chance it could collapse, but I'm curious if this idea is even feasible. What do you all think? Can I reinforce the wooden legs enough to make this work, or am I setting myself up for disaster?

Honestly, you might end up spending more than $150 trying to build those extensions. It's worth crunching the numbers before diving in!

Fair point, I'll take a closer look at the costs first. Just wanted to see if this idea is even worth pursuing, you know?

So you're looking for a loft bed vibe? Just make sure you're reinforcing it properly! One idea is to find a bunk bed plan and tweak it to fit your needs. Leaving the front open for storage is smart, but you may need to add some extra support in the corners to keep it stable.
