I'm curious about which indoor plants are beginner-friendly and can help improve air quality, especially since I live in a city with poor air quality. I've heard that certain plants can help clean the air, but I'm not sure which ones would be the best choices for someone just starting out with plants.

I’m a huge fan of plants too! They definitely add a nice touch to any room, but don’t expect them to clean the air significantly. If you love having plants around, go for it! Just keep in mind they won't solve larger air quality issues.
I’d recommend starting with a snake plant—super easy to take care of and they can survive in low light! They're often touted for their air-cleaning abilities, but just remember they won't create a huge difference in a polluted city environment.
While it's true that plants can improve air quality to some extent, they don't work miracles. You'd need a ton of them for a noticeable effect. If your main concern is pollution from outside, I'd suggest getting a good air filter instead since those do a much better job at cleaning the air in your space. Snake plants and spider plants are decent, but remember, they mostly help in sealed areas, not so much when the air is constantly circulated from outside.

Totally agree! An air purifier is definitely the way to go for serious improvements. Plus, both snake and spider plants can still look nice while doing a little bit for air quality!
