Is a Glass Door Fridge a Good Choice for Home Use?

I've been looking at fridges online and noticed that commercial glass door fridges are often much cheaper than regular home fridges. The downside for me is that they don't come with a freezer, but I think I could manage without one. Do you think getting a glass door fridge could work out for home use?

Glass door fridges can be tempting, especially those models that switch between fridge and freezer. But I’ve heard they require space clearance and might be noisy. Plus, they can generate more heat, which isn’t ideal for home use unless you have the right setup.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. Glass door fridges might look cool, but they're not the best option for a kitchen. You’ll have to keep it showroom clean which can be a hassle, and they tend to lack energy efficiency. I’d go for a classic white fridge with a freezer on top if you can.

I had a glass door fridge that I used for beer, which was great for parties! But man, it was super expensive to run—like around $40 a month. They just don’t insulate well, and you might end up regretting the energy costs.

Yeah, I've heard that glass isn't great for insulation. You really have to watch the electricity bills with those things.
