I just got a discounted snake plant tonight, but it doesn't look great. I'm worried it might have been overwatered since I've never owned one before. I'm looking for advice on how to help it recover and thrive!

First off, consider moving your snake plant to a larger pot. Give it a little water, then just ignore it for a couple of weeks. Snake plants really do thrive on neglect!

I heard cutting off the damaged leaf and repotting it is a good move too. What do you think?
