Can I Insulate My House from the Inside?

Asked By QwErTy123! On

I bought my house two years ago, and I found this winter a bit chilly. I'm not considering external insulation due to personal reasons, and I understand that might be the best option (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). I'm looking for DIY solutions that can be applied from the inside to enhance winter comfort. I appreciate earthy, imperfect finishes like American clay and want to avoid a perfectly polished look. Any suggestions?

Applying a thin layer of insulation on the inside won't really help much. Most of the heat loss tends to happen through old windows or poorly insulated areas like attics or crawl spaces, as well as gaps in walls and doors. You might want to check those first before considering anything else.

Also, keep in mind that adding layers might create moisture problems. If the walls are already insulated on the outside, adding more insulation inside could trap moisture and lead to issues.
