Hey fellow gardeners, I've got some concerning weather coming my way with a forecast of 2 to 2.5 inches of hail hitting my area tomorrow. Typically, we only get pea-sized hail, so I'm a bit worried about my garden. I'm definitely bringing all my potted plants inside and thinking about using some pruned evergreen branches over my seedlings to absorb some of the impact. What other steps can I take to protect my garden and property? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Preparing for hail like this can be tough, especially since it can cause damage to windows and vehicles too. One effective method I've seen is using burlap sacks to cover your garden items, although with hail of this size, they might still take a beating. Do you have any plastic bins lying around? They can be a good way to cover plants that you can't bring inside. Just make sure to secure them well to avoid them blowing away!
