Hey everyone! I'm brand new to gardening after relocating to Florida, and I've started tearing out all the builder-grade plants in my yard. I'm discovering that our soil is mostly sand and clay since it's a new development. In my 90 square foot garden, I only found one worm. My mom helped me improve the soil by adding a few bags of good dirt from a local nursery, which has peat moss and some manure. I'm wondering what else I can do to enhance the soil, especially since I'm in zone 9a.

Have you considered adding compost? It's a fantastic way to enrich your garden soil. It adds nutrients and improves soil structure, making it easier for plants to grow.

Oooo, I did add a bag of compost already! Thanks for the tip! Is one bag enough for a 36 square foot garden, though?
