What Non-Woodworking Crafts Have Inspired Your Projects?

I'm curious if anyone has tried other crafts that really opened their eyes to new possibilities in their work. My wife and I, being engineering nerds, dive deep into our hobbies. While we have a lot we share, we also have some that just don't mix. For example, I stumbled upon the nails subreddit, which has nothing to do with woodworking but is all about nail art and creativity. I've picked up some interesting techniques that I think could enhance my finishing work, even though I'm still a novice woodworker. So, what other crafts have inspired you or changed how you approach woodworking or projects in general?

Interestingly enough, I got my wife a basket weaving kit a while back. She loved it so much that she picked up a few more, including one that had her weaving the top of a small foot stool. That experience really opened our eyes to see how our hobbies can overlap. I'm even trying to convince her to give Danish cording a shot now!

I initially thought the nails subreddit was about using your own nails to create finishes in woodworking, like making scratches or indentations. That would be a wild concept! Imagine turning that into some kind of art piece—totally unhinged but could be a unique approach!
