I'm trying to figure out the best way to install a cat door since I have a closet in my bathroom where my cat's litter box is. Here are a few options I'm considering:
1) Installing a cat door on the closet door and another on the bathroom door, so I have double doors but can keep them both closed.
2) Putting a cat door on the closet door while keeping the bathroom door open all the time. I'd use a door gap stopper to keep it open but could still close it if needed.
3) Making a cat door in the drywall with the exit hole next to my front door. This way, both bedroom doors can remain closed, but I'd have a cat door in the wall (I've attached a pic for reference).
4) Just keeping both doors open with a door stopper to leave a small gap for them so they can get through and it won't accidentally close. This is the way I currently have it set up.
What do you think is the best approach?

If it were me, I’d go for the cat door in the drywall. It’s a bit more work, but it’ll keep both doors closed and could look pretty neat. Plus, fixing drywall is usually cheaper than replacing a door in case you change your mind later!
I’d recommend option 2. It keeps things practical and gives you flexibility. But if you're thinking long-term, option 3 might be the best choice for a more permanent solution.
Honestly, I think options 1 and 3 are overkill. If you’re using a door stopper already, option 4 works too! Just keep it simple, you know?

That’s a good point! I hadn't thought of it that way. Thanks for the tip!
