How Do I Connect an Ultrasonic Sensor 20m Away from an ESP32?

I'm working on a project with an ultrasonic sensor connected to my ESP32, and I need to position the sensor about 20 meters away from the ESP32. Can anyone advise me on what type of wiring I should use or any strategies to ensure accurate data transmission over that distance? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

20 meters is pretty far for serial communication, but you might get away with it by lowering the data rate. If you want to experiment, Ethernet cabling could work as an alternative. There are also converter chips like the ds28e17, which can extend I2C connections up to 100 meters, so that's something to consider too!

If you're already planning to run 20 meters of wire, why not just move the ESP32 closer to the sensor? They’ll be right next to each other, and that avoids complications altogether. Just a thought!
