I had to retire my old Philips 32" flat screen TV, which was mounted using a VESA mounting plate. However, I recently bought a new ONN 32" flat screen TV from Walmart, and the mounting holes are different. The new TV has screw holes that are 7.75" apart horizontally and 4" apart vertically. Can anyone tell me what this new mounting method is called so I can find the right plate? I really want to avoid replacing the entire mounting system and just need the correct adapter plate for my new TV. Thanks for the help!

It’s good to note that VESA has various hole patterns. You could check the box or manual of your new TV for the specific pattern. An adapter plate or extender is usually the best way to go without replacing the entire mount system.
VESA mount specs are typically represented by two numbers indicating the distances between mount holes in millimeters, like VESA 400x200. Based on your measurements, you'll want a VESA 200x100 adapter. If you check out adapter plates, you should find plenty that can convert the different patterns for you.
You’re looking at a 200mm x 100mm VESA standard, specifically the FDMI MIS-E. You can easily find a VESA Mount Adapter Plate for around $10 on Amazon that will fit your new TV without needing a whole new mount.

Yeah, searching for "VESA adapter plate" should give you a lot of options to match your old mount with the new TV holes.
