Building Storage Shelves: Can I Skip Some Levels?

Asked By User1234! On

I'm planning to build some storage shelves for the first time, and I've got a video guide to help me out. I'm thinking of only having the first and third shelves, and removing the second and top ones. My idea is to store some Costco totes, stacking them two high. Will this setup still be sturdy enough, or should I be concerned about its structural integrity? Thanks for any advice!

You should be good to go! Skipping those shelves will actually save you some cash on materials too, which is a win-win!

That’s what I was thinking! It's perfect for my needs, and saving money is always a bonus. Glad to hear it should hold up!

Just make sure you've got enough support for the weight on those shelves. If you're attaching them to wall studs, that's great! Just keep an eye on the corners for vertical support to avoid any sagging.

So, attaching to the studs is what I should be doing? Thanks for clarifying!
