What Gases Can the MQ-135 Sensor Detect?

Hey everyone! I'm working on a project that involves the MQ-135 gas sensor, and I'm curious about the specific types of gases it can actually detect. I've come across some mentions that it can detect a range of gases, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could provide a more detailed list or share their experiences. I'm looking for clarity on what gases I can expect it to monitor, as typically it just says it can detect 'other gases.' Thanks for your help!

You should definitely check the documentation that comes with the MQ-135 sensor. It generally tells you all about what it can detect and how to set it up properly. It’s pretty standard for sensors to have basic info like that. Just think of it like using any other sensor out there!

I get that, but I've found that many sites list similar gases but then just say 'and other gases'. I'm looking for specifics, not just the usual vague answers.

The MQ-135 is a versatile multi-gas sensor, and it can detect a bunch of compounds, although it lacks specificity. Many volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can trigger it, so it's not the best choice for precise measurements unless you calibrate it with known samples free of impurities.

I’ve tried using it with CO2, and it showed some response, especially when there were more people around—ppm levels actually increased! So while it might not be super accurate, it definitely picks up on gases.
