How to Drill into MDF Without Over-Tightening?

I'm having some trouble with drilling into MDF. It seems like if my screws are too loose, everything wobbles, but if I tighten them too much, I strip the holes. Does anyone have tips or tools that can help me find that sweet spot when drilling?

You might want to use coarse thread screws. They tend to grip MDF better and reduce the chances of stripping. Have you thought about that type of screw before?

Honestly, just hand tighten your screws. Sounds like you're getting a bit too trigger-happy with the drill. Maybe practice controlling the pressure a bit more?

Another trick is to add a bit of wood glue in the hole before you screw. It really helps with MDF and particle board. Just be cautious; it can make unscrewing a bit of a challenge later on!
