I'm looking to start a no dig garden bed and I'm curious if a 50/50 mix of compost and vegetable/flower soil will work. Each year I order this mix, referred to as 'vegetable flower mix', and I've had great results with it. Commonly, I see the no dig method used with straight compost. Is it possible to use my usual mix instead?

I've used a similar mix in my raised beds, and I go no dig by just adding a layer of compost on top every spring. It works well for me! Just a heads up though, I'd skip the cardboard if possible; it has chemicals that can linger in your soil.
That’s a good point about cardboard! If you decide to use it, opt for plain cardboard without any shiny coatings to avoid those chemical issues.
I think it’s definitely worth trying! Just make sure the texture isn't too sandy since that could affect drainage and plant health.
