Best Plant Alternatives to Monstera for a Cat Owner?

Asked By RandomUser1234 On

I'm looking to give my houseplants a Monstera-like appearance by cutting their leaves, but I have a cat and know monsteras are toxic. Are there any other plants that naturally have leaves that resemble monsteras before they start splitting? I promise to share photos of my results!

Have you considered getting a fake Monstera instead? It might save you the hassle of cutting real leaves, plus you won't have to worry about your kitty getting sick. Cutting leaves can also lead to browning edges, and they might yellow after cutting, which isn't great for the plant's health. Just a thought!

I totally get it! I once cut leaves and ended up with some crispy edges too! Just be sure to think about how the plant will look long-term.

Thanks! I might just stick with fakes if it's this risky.
