Has anyone here had experience with peel and stick tiles or wallpaper? I find that they often cost just as much, if not more, than traditional materials! We've recently bought a house, and there are plenty of old vinyl floors and unattractive tiles to deal with. I love the designs available for peel and stick, but I'm not thrilled with the price. I'd really appreciate any recommendations or insights you might have. Thanks! <3

From my experience, the peel part usually works fine, but the stick part can be pretty hit-or-miss. I tried some tiles that mimicked subway tile for a backsplash, and they barely held up. If you’re trying to save money on a project, consider painting instead or going to DIY classes on real tiling - you can often find good ceramic tiles for about a dollar per square foot! Plus, many places will help you choose what's best for your project.
I've used peel and stick wallpaper in my bathroom, and amazingly, it's held up well for a year now! I was skeptical at first, but it really turned out great. Just be mindful of patterns that need to align; mine was tricky to match at the seams. If you can find a design where this isn’t an issue, it’ll save you some frustration.
Honestly, peel and stick options are generally not very durable. They're great for temporary setups, like in dorm rooms, but for long-term use, you might want to look elsewhere!

But isn't a bathroom a tricky place for it? I thought the humidity could make it unstick, especially if there's a shower.
