I recently met someone on Tinder, and during our date, we ended up at Home Depot where he helped me get supplies to build a raised garden. I also picked up some tomato seeds and hot pepper seeds. I'm wondering if it's too late to start these seeds indoors or if I should just wait and buy the plants when they arrive at Home Depot. I live in zone 7B on Long Island, New York.

That’s a pretty wholesome Tinder date story! Just go for it! I’m on the west coast and I have to deal with frost threats till June. As long as you choose the right time to plant based on your frost dates, starting now could still work out well!
Yeah, I'd say it's a bit late for peppers. I started mine back in early February, and they are a couple of inches tall now. But you can still start tomatoes now, as they typically need to be started about 6-8 weeks before planting out.
It's definitely not too late! From what I understand, your plants should be fine to go in the ground around Memorial Day weekend. Just make sure you're aware of your last frost dates. If you're feeling unsure, you could always mix in some established plants for a smoother transition just in case.
It kind of depends on what types of tomatoes and peppers you got. If they're varieties that are commonly available as starts, waiting might be the easier choice. However, if you got some unique kinds, you could still start them indoors now. Just keep in mind you're getting close to the last frost for the season.

Sounds like you had quite the adventure on your first date! How was the movie? It must have been memorable!
