I'm looking to repaint my small, dark office and I'm considering a warm white color, like cream. I've read that glossier finishes can help reflect more light, which could be beneficial in a darker room. However, I'm also worried that any wall defects might be more noticeable with a glossier finish. I plan to do the painting myself. What are your thoughts on the best paint finishes for this situation?

Totally agree! Flat or eggshell will work well since they won't show every little flaw. If you want a more durable finish, like for areas with more wear and tear, then satin or semi-gloss might be worth considering, but keep in mind they'll reflect imperfections more.
If you want to go for a shinier finish, keep in mind that while a high gloss can make a room feel larger, it'll also expose imperfections. If you're dealing with lots of wall defects, I recommend sticking to flatter finishes.
For your office, I'd stick with a flat or eggshell finish on the walls. They’re much easier to touch up if you need to fix any spots. Higher gloss finishes can really highlight imperfections, which might not be ideal for your space.
