Do landscapers accept free rocks, mulch, and timber from properties?

Hey everyone! I recently bought some land that the previous owners were hoping to turn into an organic farm. However, I've got a lot of materials left over, like big rocks, piles of compost, wood chips, and timber from the trees I'm cutting down. I reached out to a local rock yard to see if they'd take the boulders for free, and they suggested I contact some landscapers. Do you think it's worth my time to reach out to them, or am I just going to be spinning my wheels? I just want to get rid of this stuff without expecting anything in return.

I’ve seen people pick up decorative rocks, logs for firewood, and wood chips from free listings on local classifieds! Even if you're just a DIYer like me, it’s worth a shot. Bring a wheelbarrow and truck to haul away whatever you can manage. Just be ready for some heavy lifting! A friend picked up a ton of great stuff this way and managed to move even the big pieces away a few days later.

Why not just give the landscapers a call? You’ll have to check with them directly. It could be a win-win if they're looking for free materials!

Honestly, it seems like a good plan to reach out. But also consider your long-term needs for the land — do you really want to get rid of all those materials? Sometimes it’s worth keeping some for future projects.
