I recently moved to a townhouse with a small back patio where I planted wildflower seeds in a 2ft x 7ft strip of dirt. There's a large tree nearby, but no other plants or grass. I noticed a strong odor of dog and cat urine, likely from previous tenants who had a large dog. I'm not sure if the smell is coming from the dirt, the tree, or something else. I'm looking for natural methods or products to eliminate this odor without damaging my flowers or harming my dog. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

One simple solution is to just hose down the area really well over a few days. This can often help wash away the smell. Also, keep an eye out to see if pets from the neighbors could be contributing to the issue, especially since you mentioned a sidewalk next to your fence.
Just be careful not to overwater your seeds! It can be easy to do, especially if you're trying to be thorough with cleaning.
Ugh, I totally get you. A male cat in my neighborhood marks my porch, and it's the worst! Sometimes the smell can really stick around and make it hard to enjoy your space.
Exactly! It’s such a small patio that the smell lingers more than I expected. I thought it would be a nice spot to relax, but I can barely stand it for 5 minutes!

That's a good point! I did see a couple of cats outside, so that might be it. I’m still trying to figure things out since we just moved in.
