Is ZIP Worth the Extra Cost Over GP ForceField?

I'm considering whether it's worth it to spend double the money on ZIP panels compared to GP ForceField for my home renovation. I'm located in Upstate NY and am looking to fix some issues caused by the previous owner who put vinyl siding over old cedar siding and tongue-and-grove sheathing. This winter, I discovered some water damage, so I'm planning to replace all the sheathing.

Since you're doing the whole house, using ForceField makes sense for better insulation and weather protection. Just make sure your installation is spot on—it’ll really pay off in the long run.

If you're replacing all the sheathing and looking into insulation and efficiency, ZIP or ForceField might be a good investment, especially if you trust the technology and can install it properly. But if it's just a few problem areas, sticking with regular plywood and a WRB like Tyvek will save you a lot of money. You likely won’t notice the difference once everything’s up.
