What Table Saw Recommendations Do You Have for My Next Workbench Build?

I'm in the process of designing a new workbench and want to incorporate a built-in table saw. I've been using a 10-inch portable Ryobi contractor table saw for quite a while, but I feel like I've outgrown it. I need a saw that can handle hardwood more effectively. Ideally, I'm looking for something durable with at least two parallel standard-size rails and a steel top. Since it's going to be part of the workbench, I won't be needing features like outfeed support or an extendable fence.

My budget is around $400, and here are my must-haves:

- Bevel adjustment
- Blade parallelism adjustment
- At least 2 horsepower
- Minimum 10 inches, but I'd prefer 12 inches
- Long enough blade mount to accommodate a dado stack

Does anything like this exist out there?

Have you thought about a used Delta 36-725? They’re often available around your budget and they're quite reliable for what you're looking to do.

Honestly, jobsite saws just don't have the power for thick hardwoods. You might want to consider taking a look at some stationary saws if you're serious about hardwood projects. They might be a bit pricier, but they'll last longer and handle your needs better!

Used options might be your best bet for powerful saws under $400. Local classifieds could yield some good finds if you're willing to do a little hunting!

If you're looking for something solid, check out the Harvey table saws. They're pretty nice, though they might stretch your budget a bit. Still, they’re known for durability and performance! Just keep in mind that you may not get much joy on a tight budget for new equipment.

I appreciate the suggestion, but I really need to stick close to that $400 mark.
