I accidentally used a sealant meant for exterior applications—like windows and siding—around my toilet and tub-to-floor area. Now I'm wondering if I should just wait for it to dry and redo it or if it's okay to leave it as is. Any advice?

Using exterior sealant can be a bit of a gamble! While it usually has a strong bond and can resist water, the downside is that many exterior sealants have a strong odor and may release chemicals that aren't great for indoor air quality. If it's already cured, you might just want to leave it, but be cautious about the smell and any fumes. Just keep an eye on it!
Sealing around your toilet is actually a good thing since it helps keep moisture out and prevents leaks. Just make sure you’ve left the back unsealed a bit to spot any wax seal leaks, especially if you're in a high-traffic area. That way, if something goes wrong, you'll notice it sooner rather than later!
Why would you even use exterior sealant inside? That stuff's strong but the fumes can be a bit much. Just make sure you're aware of it and ventilate well if you choose to leave it. Otherwise, when it's dry, consider redoing it with something made for interiors for peace of mind!

Good to know! I'll definitely keep an eye out for any weird smells.
