Should I Choose a Mid Torque or High Torque M18 1/2″ Impact Wrench for My Pickup?

I'm thinking about buying an M18 1/2" impact wrench for working on my pickup. I'm debating whether to go with the high torque model or stick with the mid torque. I know the high torque offers more power but I feel like 90% of the time, the mid torque will do the job just fine. Is there any compelling reason to opt for the high torque aside from needing extra torque, especially since it's heavier and bulkier?

I have the M18 mid torque and recently got the M12 stubby as well. The stubby has been amazing! Just saying it’s really about what you will use it for—in my case, the mid torque and stubby work great together.

I’d suggest going for the mid torque. It’s more compact, easier to handle, and honestly, it packs a punch for most tasks. I only pull out my high torque when absolutely necessary. It’s just not worth the extra weight for everyday jobs.

Why not just grab the high torque? It saves you from having to later buy the mid torque if you find the need for more power. Sometimes it’s about having the right tool on hand without compromise.
