I'm a renter and I want to make sure I don't break anything while changing a recessed lightbulb that's almost flush with the ceiling. There seems to be a cover or rim over the bulb—should I twist it off or pull it out? We're looking to swap the bright white light for something softer, so I just want to be careful about this! Thanks for any tips! Here are some images for context: [https://imgur.com/a/1miUoOU](https://imgur.com/a/1miUoOU)

It looks like you have a wafer light, which should be secured with springs. Just grab the outer edge of the housing and gently pull it down. Once you do, follow the wire and you can find a small driver box—there might be a switch on it to change the light temperature. They usually come with different settings for color warmth!

Awesome, thanks for the tip! I'll let you know how it goes!
