I'm in the process of building a 10' x 6' playhouse for my kids and need some advice on cutting plywood for the floor. The joists will be placed 16 inches on center, and I'm planning to use two 4x8 pressure-treated plywood panels. How should I cut them to properly cover the joists? I'm struggling to find the right configuration.

Another option is to just cut 2' off each sheet, which allows you to screw down the 6' pieces, then use the cut-offs to fill in the remaining space. That could be a quick and easy solution!
If your joists run in the 10' direction, you'll actually need to get 6 pieces at 10' plus one more at 12'. Start by centering the first interior joist 12" from the outside edge, and then the next three should be spaced 16" apart. Lay down one sheet of plywood centered with a foot from each edge. For the second sheet, cut it into two strips at 6' and two strips at 8'. Make sure to use tongue and groove plywood for proper flooring, or you can add blocking for the edges of the shorter pieces.

Thanks for that suggestion! It's a practical idea, and it sounds like it would save some time.
