How Do I Fix My Sink Stopper When It Has a Squeezy Blue Thing?

I've been having a tough time with my bathroom sink stopper. It's been clogged for a while and while I found plenty of videos showing how to fix a sink with a clip, mine has this squeezy blue contraption instead. I can't seem to get the stopper out because it doesn't twist like others do; there are these squeezy blue pieces on either side. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? I'm worried about breaking the sink if I try something wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

A picture would really help with figuring this one out; it’s tough to visualize without seeing what you're dealing with! If you can, snap a quick pic of the setup under your sink?

I totally get your frustration! I also have that squeezy blue thing under my sink. Here’s what you can try: First, look for a light blue piece that resembles the Arc de Triomphe at the back. Pull up on that. Then, push the black strip away from the stick that goes through it—it's supposed to be loose! After that, squeeze the sides of the blue thing and pull it out of the pipe. Just remember to put everything back the same way after you clear the clog! Good luck!

Thank you so much! I tried this and it worked - I found so much hair and gunk! I also saw a universal sink stopper on TikTok that might help with keeping things clean in the future. Really appreciate your help; my dad usually handled this stuff and my mom and I aren't very handy. ❤️

So, when you say to pull out the squeezy blue things, you mean the ones not attached to the black strip but linked to the pipe? I was hesitant to do that 'cause I thought it would break. Glad to hear this is a safe method!
