I found a long, narrow white mushroom growing out of my plant pot today. I removed it, but I'm curious about what steps I should take to prevent this from happening again. Is it a sign of a larger issue, and do I need to check other nearby plant pots for contamination? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Finding a mushroom in your pot isn’t usually a big deal! It often indicates that your potting soil is too moist, which can happen if it's not well-draining. Don’t worry too much, but it might be a sign to check your watering habits or the type of soil you’re using. More gritty, well-draining soil can help prevent this issue.
Mushrooms don't really harm your plants, but they do suggest that your soil is maybe too organic and stays soggy for too long, which encourages fungal growth. For succulents and cacti, you generally want a soil mix that drains well and isn't overly rich in organic matter. Adding more grit to your mix or using less organic material could really help!
Thank you! I will do that.

Thanks for the info!
