Can I Use a 240V Mini Split AC for My Garage DIY Project?

I'm considering doing a DIY project to set up a mini-split air conditioner (AC) in my garage, and I could use some advice. I already have the AC unit, but I'm wondering if using 240V is excessive. Alternatively, I could switch to a 120V unit. I know I need to prepare a few things like panels, a charge controller, an inverter, and batteries. Any tips or guidance would be appreciated!

Running a 5k BTU window unit at 120V in my garage works just fine. It draws about 500 to 1000 watts, so 240V might be overkill unless you're planning for a whole house setup. If your goal is whole-house AC down the line, then 240V could make sense!
