Has anyone purchased the Jorgensen low angle block plane from Banggood? I just noticed they stock Pony Jorgensen products and I'm curious about the quality. I can't find this plane anywhere else in my country, so any experiences would be super helpful!

I didn't buy it from Banggood since I can find Pony Jorgensen locally, but I'm quite happy with it! Mine arrived sharp and fairly flat, and it didn’t take much effort to get it perfectly flat. Adjustments were decent too, way better than other budget options. It's a little tricky for absolute beginners, but it’s definitely an upgrade from cheaper models... and it costs less than those fancy alternatives!

Sounds good! Glad to hear it's not a hassle to set up. I'm new to woodworking, so I appreciate the heads-up about the learning curve.

If you mean the 60 1/2 model, it seems like that’s a rebadged Luban or Quangsheng. These brands might have different quality controls, so it’s worth doing a little research. But honestly, that listing on Banggood has the best price I’ve seen so far for one!

That’s interesting! I checked AliExpress, and the Luban ones are priced higher—figured they were the premium choice.

I've got this block plane, and I think it's great for working on small pieces or getting into tight spots where a larger jack plane just won’t fit. Some folks might say you’re better off with a vintage Stanley, but honestly, it’s not a huge deal for everyday tasks. Just a heads up, quality control can be hit or miss—you might get one that’s ready to go or one that needs some TLC to flatten the bottom and clean up the blade seat. I’m not a pro woodworker, so I’m pretty satisfied with mine!
