Hey everyone! I've got a M18 track saw and a M18 miter saw already, but my current circular saw is a Dewalt brushed model that doesn't pack much of a punch. For most of my larger projects like framing, the miter and track saws handle everything fine. I'm wondering if the M12 Fuel circular saw would be sufficient for those random quick cuts that pop up, or should I just wait for a good deal on the M18 rear handle model?

If you're tackling smaller jobs, the M12 should handle those just fine. But for bigger projects like framing or building a deck, you'll definitely want to go with the M18. If you're already invested in M18 tools, I'd go for a regular M18 Fuel Circular saw instead. You might even find a good second-hand one that's still in good shape. I've had mine for about 10 years without any power issues. However, if you think the M12 is what you need for casual use, it should work fine for the occasional cuts.
I’ve got a mix of M12 and M18 tools, and I recently saw the M12 on sale for $139, including a 5ah HO battery. That got me curious about the M12 saw!
I’m waiting for that M18 fuel circular saw to finally go on sale! I've got my fingers crossed for a good deal soon.
Just buy it and try it out! Most places have a return policy, so you can easily return it if it doesn't meet your needs. Plus, having a compact saw is super convenient when you have other tools in the same line.
The M12 circular saw has a smaller blade size, which can limit your cutting options. If the depth of cut works for your projects, it can still be a great choice, especially with the 5.0 battery.

Just so you know, I don't have one yet, but it's definitely on my list!
