I'm curious if anyone has conducted any experiments comparing the effects of diluted human urine for watering plants versus using regular water. Has anyone tried this, and what were the results?

I conducted my own little test with ornamental plants using a 10:1 water-to-urine ratio. The results were great—the plants grew better and their colors popped! Just be careful not to splash it on the parts you eat, like leafy greens.

That's cool! I heard that if you let urine age for about a year, it can really reduce the bacteria because of the ammonia levels. Apparently, it was used for laundry back in Roman times!

I recently stumbled upon some studies about this topic. There's one study that discusses the positive effects of human urine on plant growth. Also, there's a separate study comparing male and female urine on corn growth. If you're curious, I can share links to those!

Keep in mind that while urine can be a fertilizer, it shouldn’t replace regular watering entirely, as not all plants can handle it. Just a precaution!

I've personally used my urine on my grass and plants a lot. It's not a formal study, but I've found that everything thrives on it, except for my Erica and Heather bushes, which didn’t survive. In general, most plants seem to really benefit from it, whether it's diluted or not!

That sounds interesting! I might try it out on grass I'm hoping to turn into a garden.

A YouTuber known as Millennial Gardener did an experiment on this too, and it was pretty enlightening.
