Best Hybrid Inverter for DIY Battery Project?

Hey everyone! I'm diving into a DIY solar and battery project here in South UK, and I'm about to install around 6kW of solar panels. I've already purchased a 15kW 48V DIY battery kit using 16 EVE MB31 314Ah cells. We do have a high energy demand of about 10,500 kWh per year because we use an air source heat pump (ASHP). I was considering the Fox 10.5 hybrid inverter but heard it can't work with DIY batteries since it requires an 80V input. Is that true? If Fox isn't feasible, what other hybrid inverter options should I look into? I also spotted the Sunsynk ECCO 8.8, but it's pricier and offers less power than Fox. Any suggestions?

Check out Deye! They have similar hardware to Sunsynk but usually come at a better price point. Just be aware that Deye doesn’t operate in the UK due to compliance issues, so that can be a hurdle if you plan on warranty support.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm definitely considering warranty and support options, so I'll stick to those more established brands for now.

It's crucial that your inverter can communicate with your battery, so double-check compatibility. I recently went for a very cost-effective setup but found I really missed certain features because of communication issues. If you're spending on an inverter, ensure the software is up to date and reliable!

If you're looking for alternatives, I've got an EG4-18kpv, which is compatible with DIY batteries if you use a supported BMS. However, given your setup's different voltage, you might need to explore Luxpower, which is the manufacturer for EG4 outside the US. They have good units, just make sure they're the right fit for your system's needs!
