Struggling with Staining and Painting Wooden Projects – Need Help!

I've been having a really tough time with staining and painting my wooden projects for my vendor table. It feels like I ruin everything! I'm starting to think that maybe I should just get rid of everything I've done so far. Do any of you sell pieces that are just raw wood, without paint or stain? It's just not my strong suit, and honestly, I can't seem to find any helpful tutorials on YouTube. Every time I try, things just fall apart! Any suggestions?

You don't have to use stain if you don't want to! Just look for wood that matches the color you're aiming for – it usually ends up looking way better and more natural.

When I'm building for clients, I usually recommend using Danish oil since it's easy to apply, or I let them take care of the staining themselves. That way, if they don’t like how it turns out, it’s on them!

What type of projects are you working on? If you're having issues with your stain, it could be that it gets stuck in all the little cracks. I don't paint much either since I like the look of natural wood. A tip: when it comes to smaller items, it can get really messy! Just keep experimenting—you've got this!

Yeah, I hear you! The smaller stuff just ends up looking way too rough for my taste. I’m trying furniture now, and it’s going a bit better, but I really struggle with the tiny details.
