Hey everyone! I'm curious about the best soil mix to use for alocasias. Do you all have any favorite recipes or techniques? Do any of you make your own soil mixes?

I like using a mineral substrate semi-hydro mix. I combine equal parts of zeolite, pumice, and lava rock, all around 5-8mm in size. It works great for my five alocasias, and they're all thriving!

That sounds interesting! I'm considering hydroponics for my alocasias since I have 10 aquariums. Do you think clay pebbles would work as a safe option for that?

Yeah, I get why it could seem confusing between hydro and semi-hydro! I think it could definitely work out for you!
