I recently got hit with norovirus and lost all my seedlings in just 24 hours. They were about 2-3 weeks old, a couple of inches tall, and had started developing their true leaves. I had around 30 tomato and pepper plants growing. Now that I'm past the worst of it, I'm wondering if I can just start over at this point, or is it too late? I know I could buy bigger seedlings later, but I was really looking forward to these new varieties. Starting them two weeks late—will that stunt their growth or have any negative effects? I'm in zone 6b if that helps. Thanks for any advice!

Now's actually a great time to restart your tomatoes! You might need to check for peppers since they take longer, but it's definitely worth a shot. I'm curious how you lost them all so quickly though; that’s usually a sign of them being really dried out. What happened?

Thanks! I’ll give it another go today. I had just taken off the humidity dome and set up a fan, which probably dried them out quicker. I missed watering for about 24-36 hours while I was sick, and I feel terrible about it.
