I found the Forrest Mims books super helpful when I started out. They're available online and are beginner-friendly. Also, I suggest getting yourself a starter kit; it'll usually come with a solderless breadboard and some jumper wires, which are great for trying out different projects.
You could start with something really simple, like making a basic light circuit. All you need is a battery, a switch, and a light bulb. If you want to spice it up a bit, try using an LED along with a resistor. It'll help you learn about current and voltage in a hands-on way!
