I found some unusual plugs in my family room, specifically in a built-in shelf next to the cable and outlet. I'm curious if these are meant for some type of audio setup, like surround sound. Can anyone explain how to make use of them? Here's a link to the picture: https://imgur.com/a/PZfb7KH.

It looks like these are standard speaker binding posts. You can either use banana plugs or directly wire them by twisting them to hold your cables in place. Super easy once you get the right equipment!
Those plugs appear to be for connecting surround sound speakers. Typically, there's a pair for each corner of the room, so you'll need a surround sound amplifier and matching speakers to use them. Just check if you've got a similar set of connectors in each corner of your space.

Got it! So, these wires should be connected somewhere else already? If I can't find those endpoints, does that mean they may have been cut or tucked away?
