What’s the Cost to Asphalt a Dirt Driveway in the Pacific Northwest?

I'm looking to asphalt my dirt driveway, which is about 360 square feet, and I'm located in the Pacific Northwest. I know it's important to seal the asphalt every year, and I'm okay with that. The driveway is on a small hill, so we don't have to worry about water pooling. This is our first time paving it since it's been dirt, and dealing with mud and pebbles during rain has been pretty annoying. If you've had a similar project done, could you share what you paid per square foot?

It's definitely good to get a few estimates from local asphalt companies. I’d recommend reaching out to at least three different ones to compare. For your area, the costs can vary, but I’ve seen prices around $2 to $4 per square foot depending on the company and materials used.

I hear you on the mud issue! Last year, I paved a similar-sized driveway in Oregon, and it cost me about $1,800 in total. This included the sealing for the first year, so keep that in mind when budgeting. Just make sure to ask for details on the materials they plan to use.
