I recently replaced my shower faucet, but I've noticed it only gets lukewarm water, which makes it pretty frustrating when I'm trying to fill the tub or take a hot shower. I've heard that many faucets these days come with features that limit how hot the water can get, but I'm really just looking for a way to get actual hot water out of it. Can anyone suggest what I should look for in a faucet or other solutions to solve this issue?

It sounds like your new faucet might have a temperature limit stop installed, which is pretty common for safety. Check your installation manual; some of these stops can be adjusted. If you can crank it up, that might help!
Newer mixing valves have built-in anti-scald features that prevent them from reaching max heat. If your faucet is one of those, you might end up needing a different model that doesn't have those limitations. Some older valves seem to heat up better, like the one you had before.
That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid—I'll need to find a faucet that can deliver actual hot water.
Consider looking into your water heater settings. If other fixtures in the house are getting hot water just fine, it might not be a faucet issue. You could adjust your heater's temperature, but be mindful that it might make other taps too hot.
That's a good point, but I’m concerned it might scald at the other taps if I do that.

I’ve tried adjusting it, but it still doesn't get anywhere near hot enough.
