Overwatering Woes: Should I Repot My Echeveria Elegans?

I'm a newbie succulent parent and I've recently overwatered my Echeveria elegans. It's planted in supposedly well-draining soil, but the moisture readings haven't changed in over a week! The leaves still look and feel healthy, which has me worried about root rot. I repotted it about three weeks ago. Is it better to repot again or should I just hang tight and wait it out?

You can definitely repot it without harming the plant. Just hold off on watering for about a week after you repot. A little fan pointed at the pot can help the soil dry out quicker too! ?

Don’t trust moisture meters too much; they can be really inaccurate. Instead, let the plant tell you when it needs water – look for wrinkles in the leaves. If your soil is still damp after three weeks, it may not be as well-draining as you think. Adding inorganic materials like perlite or pumice can help. Honestly, I’ve repotted my succulents multiple times even in a single day for various reasons, and they bounce back just fine! Repotting now is probably your best bet to keep it healthy.

If your soil's still wet after a week, it might be too organic. You can repot again and just wait until the leaves start to look thirsty before watering. Your succulent will show you when it needs water!
