How Did You Convince Your Parents to Try a Pool Cleaning Robot?

My dad is pretty skeptical about smart devices and thinks they're just for lazy people. After our pool had an algae problem last summer, I bought an Aiper Scuba S1 to help me out, but he couldn't help but make fun of its tank tread design—saying it looked like it was meant for Normandy Beach or something. He even tried to force the cleaner open and nearly broke it! Ironically, while I struggled with a heavy manual vacuum that left my arms sore, the robot did most of the work effortlessly. Nowadays, he's started using it on Fridays, testing its sensors, but he still won't touch any of the app features. Though it got some leaves stuck in its intake vents from time to time, we decided it should only be used when the pool is fully set up. We struck a deal: he can use the robot on weekends if he stops using bleach tablets, since the TDS meter shows his pool's at 50ppm for the first time since 2003. Has anyone else had success convincing their parents to give these robots a try?

Lol, I've heard wild stories about cleaning robots! One neighbor had theirs shoot out of the pool like a rocket and land on a nearby club’s roof. They seem like a big talking point though, especially with all the flaming ones you see online! But hey, they can be real lifesavers when they work right, right? Just gotta watch out for the drama!

I think it all comes down to proper maintenance. I use chlorine tablets with my Dolphin vacuum, but they’re secured in locked floaters, not just left sitting on the bottom. It’s pricey, but taking good care of it prevents headaches later. I wouldn’t let anyone borrow mine because it costs a lot and requires proper care!

We have both a solar-powered robot for surface debris and a corded one for cleaning the bottom and sides, and honestly, they've been fantastic! They save us tons of time every week, so they were worth every penny. You get to enjoy a nice clean pool without all the manual labor!

Exactly! It’s an investment for sure, but being able to jump into a crystal clear pool after work without having to worry about cleaning is absolutely priceless.
